* Continuous daily capacity based on a 16-hour-a-day operation
Specific design for BSL 4 containment and ATEX requirements
Features
- Effluent BSL: 1-2-3-4
- Capacity: Up to 50,200 gallons per day and more
- Technology: Continuous flow
- Utility: Steam (or Electricity)
Decontamination
- Heat treatment with F0 from 25 to 50 depending on the required safety levels
- Standard set 275°F – 2 minutes, adjustable according to specifications (conventional or unconventional germs)
- Effluent decontamination capacity: from 660 to 50,200 gallons per day and more
- Recommended daily operation: up to 16 hours per day. Our continuous systems can operate up to 24 hours a day depending on operating conditions
- Compliance with the highest requirements for containment BSL 3 – BSL 4 / SIL 3
- Guaranteed decontamination thanks to heat exchangers which offer a compact and restricted area allowing uniform heat distribution through eddy diffusion (turbulence) and thus treatment effectiveness and reliability
- Redundant control of decontamination parameters (time / temperature and pressure for the Prion)
Design
- Tubular design allowing continuous treatment of large volumes of biowaste effluent
- Systems with full custom design possibilities
- Steam or all-electric heating (patented technologies)
- All welded heat exchangers and absence of dead zones and preferential circuits avoiding any risk of leakage and cross-contamination and giving the equipment perfect aseptic properties
- Tube-in-tube design allowing very fast flow of fluids for optimized global exchange coefficient
- Energy recovery section to pre-heat and pre-cool biowaste effluent (savings of 80% of thermal energy used): good for savings, good for ecology!
- Reduced footprint for an easy accommodation in its environment and easy access for maintenance since all the component parts are assembled and connected to each other on a particularly compact one-piece skid.
- Materials chosen according to the most stringent American pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines and to the aggressiveness of the agents present in the effluent (strong resistance to chlorides)
- Fully instrumented for enhanced safety
Operation & Advantages
- Default during the thermal treatment: the decontamination unit automatically transfers the effluent directly to the storage tank and then switches into a sanitization cycle
- Fully automatic operation to avoid any intervention of operators: cycles and critical parameters controlled by PLC (level control for automatic starts and stops, CIP cycles and sanitization) and monitoring through HMI touch screen with several security access levels
- Very low fouling of tubes allowing very important production times between two cleanings
- Reduced installation and commissioning time
- Pre-validation for a quick release time (simple and fast qualifications, all protocols and procedures included in our standard documentation)
- Limited operating expenses (OPEX) thanks to very low energy consumption and highly limited maintenance requirements
